„Acers 18 Zoll große Aspire-Notebooks der 89XX-Serie können mit gutem Gewissen als eine der besten Interpretationen des Themas Multimedia am Notebook angesehen werden. Nun hat sich der erste Maxi, basierend auf der modernen Arrendale-Plattform bei uns eingefunden: das Aspire 8942G soll die bekannten Tugenden mit einem Core i5-430M kreuzen. Wir sind gespannt, wie sich Acers knapp 1000 Euro teurer Maxi behaupten kann.“

Hard-core gamers are all about squeezing the best performance they can out of their rigs, while ensuring that the visual quality of the games they play are at the highest settings possible. As desktop PCs typically have access to higher-end components than notebooks--and are also far more configurable, upgradable, and tweakable--the vast majority of gamers opt for desktop systems. But with the increased performance potential of today's notebook components and their portability (LAN party anyone?), high-end gaming notebooks are becoming increasingly popular with the gaming crowd.

It used to be that if you wanted to get any serious PC gaming done that you needed to have a desktop computer. Later on, it became more viable to consider a gaming laptop instead, but these used to break the bank compared to desktops with equivalent specs and features. “As everyone should know by now, laptops are big business. As we've heard many times over the past few years that laptops are outselling desktops more often than not these days and why not, they're more portable and do 99% of what the average person needs (web and email), not to mention wifi can be had almost anywhere. The hardcore geeks will still buy their big towers and heavy equipment, but those days are numbered. So with more and more laptops out there in the wild, and faster and hotter hardware being stuffed into them, the need for notebook coolers is at an all-time high.

"I am glad to say that this review is not of a netbook. It's become common recently for many of the new systems that hit the market to be netbooks. An actual new notebook can be hard to come by thanks to the netbook revolution, at least in the lower end of the price range. The Gateway machine I will be looking at today carries a price that is not too out of line with many netbooks on the market.

Lenovo G530 Notebook -

Lenovo is a company that offers a wide range of notebooks. >From multimedia notebooks, to gaming notebooks, to value notebooks to netbooks, Lenovo has their bases adequately covered. We've spent some time with a few of the company's prior offerings, but we've never quite seen a product like this. The simplistic G530 is a computer that's easily overlooked. It's not flashy, the model name isn't memorable and the specification sheet has nothing on it that will immediately grab your attention.
